Untitled #1 draws direct inspiration from the world of art, more precisely, the famous Le Dejeuner sur L’ by Eduard Manet. By replacing the protagonists with a diverse trio in conversation, Etienne brings the story into the 21st century. The composition is just as classical as in the original painting but the relationship between the protagonists is left to the viewer to speculate on.
